About Thibaud Boudignon Anjou Blanc

Thibaud Boudignon Anjou Blanc is an organic, barrel-aged white wine made by Thibaud Boudignon with the Chenin Blanc variety in the AOC Anjou denomination, in Loire (France).
 
After working for Gevrey-Chambertin (Bordeaux) and Château Soucherie (Loire), Thibaud Boudignon began making his own wines in 2009, acquiring 3.8 ha in the Loire Valley. Over the years he has been expanding plots in Anjou and Savemmières and is currently one of the most interesting winegrowers in the area, using strict organic practices in the vineyard and immense skill in the winery.
 
Thibaud Boudignon Anjou Blanc comes from 35-year-old vines planted in deep soils of gray shale and volcanic rock. Convinced that grape quality is the most important factor, he uses 100% organic agriculture and no chemical products. Planting density is limited to 8,000 vines / ha. The harvest is carried out manually and the yields are much lower than what is required by the AOC.
 
In the winery, the Thibaud Boudignon Anjou Blanc grapes are selected and gently pressed. The must ferments in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts for 2 to 3 weeks and ages in 300-litre and 750-litre barrels for 15 to 18 months; 30% of which are new. 
 
The Thibaud Boudignon Anjou Blanc wine is made through the meticulous work of one of the most prestigious winegrowers in the valley and has a surprising purity and depth. An intense Loire Valley Chenin.

On the palate, it reveals a remarkable depth, elegant and perfectly balanced. Its creamy profile unfolds gradually, offering a smooth and harmonious tasting experience. A white wine that masterfully balances tropical aromas with smoothness in its flavour.                       
 
2018 Thibaud Boudignon Anjou Blanc 2018 is a creamy white wine with aromas of white fruit, citrus and subtle wilted flowers. On the palate it is deep, intense and structured. A long and broad wine with a well-marked minerality and a salty finish.
