About Thibaud Boudignon Clos de la Hutte Savannières

Although Thibaud Boudignon began his life on tatami mats as a high-level judoka, today his focus is precision in the vineyard. Born in Bordeaux, but eager to learn everything the wine world could offer, he ventured to Gevrey-Chambertin in Burgundy to hone his craft, and later arrived at Château de la Soucherie in Savennières (in the Loire), where he earned his reputation by working organically and with great discipline.

But Thibaud is not one to remain idle. In 2008, he established his own small corner in Savennières and in 2009 released his first vintage, with just 3.5 hectares. From the outset, his aim was to treat the grape as gold, without chemicals, without shortcuts, and with this philosophy, he has ascended to become one of the most intriguing names in the Loire. He is one of those who transforms chenin blanc from just another white wine into a vibrant experience.

His Clos de la Hutte Savennières is testament to his magic. It is 100% chenin blanc from schist soil, which imparts a powerful mineral punch. In the winery, it undergoes fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by a year of maturation in oak barrels and approximately 3 months in stainless steel.

Thibaud not only crafts wines but, through fresh, elegant, and complex creations like Clos de la Hutte Savennières, he is helping a whole new generation of Loire winemakers to think differently, break rules, and elevate chenin to another level.
