About Tierras de Cair

Tierras de Cair is a red wine made by the Dominio de Cair winery in La Aguilera (Burgos). D.O. Ribera del Duero.

Dominio de Cair is the project by Luis Cañas, the Rioja winery, in Ribera del Duero that began to take shape in 2008 and culminated with the construction of the winery in 2012.
Here, Dominio de Cair has old vineyards, some of them over a hundred years old, with little production but a lot of character. This, together with a specially designed winery and with the most modern oenological techniques, allows them to produce their excellent quality wines with all the character of the area where they are born.

Tierras de Cair is a wine made with Tempranillo grapes from different plots that are more than 60 years old, located in areas that are at a high altitude and with a low production.
Harvesting is by hand into boxes, Once in the winery the grapes pass through a double selection table, bunches and berries, before fermenting in oak vats. The malolactic fermentation is carried out in new French oak barrels where the wine remains for 24 months. Before coming to market, it stands for a minimum of 18 months in the bottle.
2018

Tierras de Cair 2018 is a red wine that on the nose presents a bouquet of ripe black fruits complemented by invigorating balsamic undertones and a delightful mineral nuance. On the palate, it flows with a pleasant fullness, reaffirming the fruitiness that sweeps across the taste buds with an extensive finish and a minty aftertaste, delightfully crisp and sophisticated.
2014 Tierras de Cair 2014 is a mature red wine boasting profound fruit fragrances, undertones of wood and leather, and hints of pure chocolate. On the palate, it is expansive, robust, and richly textured. This meaty wine features seamlessly integrated acidity and delightfully sweet tannins. The finish is extensive, enduring, and has a balsamic quality.
2012 Tierras de Cair 2012 is a mature meaty and structured red wine. An excellent vintage for this wine that expresses itself emphatically. On the nose the aromas of ripe black fruit are displayed between a very elegant roasted base note and the distinguished spicy notes. In the mouth it starts with intensity, and glides over the palate in a majestic and exuberant way.
