About Tr3smano Proventus

The winery Tr3smano derives its name from a unique blend of meanings. On one hand, it refers to the old Castilian expression “trasmano” or “desmano”, indicating something distant or beyond, out of direct reach, something exclusive and uncommon. On the other hand, the name reflects the union of its three founders: Fernando Remírez de Ganuza, Pedro Aibar, and José Ramón Ruiz. Thus, Tr3smano embodies both the idea of remoteness, exclusivity, and elegance, as well as the collaboration and shared vision of its creators, located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, in the renowned "Golden Mile," home to some of Spain's most iconic wineries.

Tr3smano Proventus is born from the selection of their tinta del país (tempranillo) vineyards situated in the most privileged spots of the Ribera del Duero. From the Peñafiel area, at about 750 metres altitude with gravelly and sandy soils, to Roa and Olmedillo, at 850 metres with clay and limestone soils, each plot contributes its character. The combination of these distinct terroirs allows for fruit with unique characteristics, which is then transformed into a wine full of character and expression.

In the winery, the stabilisation of Tr3smano Proventus is natural, achieved solely through racking and exposure to the ambient cold, maximally respecting the essence of the wine and the fruit from each vineyard. Afterwards, the wine matures for 14 months in two-year-old French oak barrels, followed by 10 months in the bottle before reaching the glass. A meticulous process that ensures complexity, balance, and elegance.

Tr3smano Proventus 2020 boasts an intense cherry-red hue that already hints at its vibrant character. As you bring the glass closer, a bouquet of aromas unfolds where ripe red fruits, such as cherries and raspberries, intertwine with subtle toasted notes and a spicy hint of black pepper. On the palate, it presents a silky texture and a flavourful profile that combines fresh fruity notes with the smoky nuances of oak. Its mature and well-integrated tannins provide a harmonious structure that perfectly balances the wine. This vintage offers a rounded and satisfying experience, ideal for those seeking a red wine with body and elegance without sacrificing freshness.
