About Tr3smano

Tr3smano is a red wine made with the Tempranillo variety in the D.O. Ribera de Duero by the Lagar Tr3smano winery.

José Ramón Ruiz-Gómez, Fernando Remírez de Ganuza and Pedro Aibar are the driving forces behind this project set up along the Ribera de Duero golden mile. Inspired by the old Spanish expression “trasmano o desmano” describing things that are not within easy reach or difficult to achieve, this winery combines innovation and tradition to create great wines.

The Tr3smano wine comes from old vineyards with an average age of 50 years old which they call the “winepress vines”. This traditionally cultivated vineyard lies in very poor sandy loam soils where only the Tempranillo variety is planted. The harvest is carried out manually and placed in small boxes.

Once the grapes reach the winery, they meticulously pass over the selection table. They then cold macerate for a week at a maximum temperature of 10°C. Tr3smano undergoes alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature in small truncated conical tanks and malolactic fermentation in new 225-litre barrels. Finally, the wine ages for 16 months in new, mostly French oak barrels.

Tr3smano is the result of searching for a balance between fruit and wood that plays with the aging time to achieve maximum aromas without losing freshness.

2017

Tr3smano 2017 is a mature red wine boasting scents of ripe red fruits, hints of blue florals, and nuances of toasted and smoky elements. On the palate, it is meaty, vibrant, and refined. This wine features a silky tannic structure, with an impeccable harmony between acidity and alcohol, culminating in an exceptionally long finish.

 

 
2016 Tr3smano 2016 is a concentrated red wine with complex aromas of ripe red fruit, blue flowers and toasted, smoked and spicy oak notes. On the palate it is fresh, meaty and powerful but with a long and elegant finish.
