About Travaglini Gattinara Tre Vigne

Travaglini Gattinara Tre Vigne is a wood-aged red wine made by Travaglini with the Nebbiolo variety in the DOCG Gattinara, in Piedmont (Italy). 
 
Founded in 1958 by Arturo Travaglini, Travaglini is a family winery located in the heart of the Gattinara hills. With 59 hectares of vineyards, the third generation is now carrying the family tradition, growing mainly Nebbiolo variety grapes and producing structured wines with great aging potential. 
 
Travaglini Gattinara Tre Vigne is made with a selection of grapes from three historic Gattinara vineyards, hence the name “Tre Vigne”. These vineyards are planted at different altitudes from 320 to 420 metres above sea level and they enjoy a very unique microclimate. The vines are planted on rocky soil rich in iron, and they are cultivated with respectful agriculture. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness. 
 
The Travaglini Gattinara Tre Vigne vinification process begins with fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks for about 15 days at controlled temperatures. The wine is then aged in Slavonian oak barrels for 42 months and a further 8 months in the bottle.
 
With the winery’s characteristic twisted bottle, designed by the founder to act as a decanter so the wine could be served straight from the table, Travaglini Gattinara Tre Vigne is a smooth and rounded wine that satisfies those who love the most intense sensations.
2015

Travaglini Gattinara Tre Vigne 2015 is a concentrated red wine with aromas of ripe black and red fruits, spicy notes of liquorice and vanilla and balsamic touches. On the palate it is intense, voluminous and very elegant. A fruity wine with silky tannins and lively acidity. It has a flavoursome, long and persistent finish.
