Valderiz 2021 is a complex and full-bodied red wine. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of blueberries, cocoa, coffee, and cherries. On the palate, it is pleasant and expansive, with concentrated flavours reminiscent of blueberries, cocoa, and coffee. Its subtly spiced and slightly mature character makes it particularly intriguing for those seeking a wine with depth and richness of nuances.

About Valderiz

Valderiz is a red wine produced by Bodegas y Viñedos Valderiz is a small town in Roa de Duero, protected by the D.O. Ribera del Duero.

It is a single variety wine made from Tinta del País, the variety the is the most represented in D.O. Ribera del Duero.

The grapes are grown on vines that are more than 25 years old and planted in trellises, following the guidelines of organic farming. They do not use weed-killers nor pesticide nor any type of chemical fertilizer.  

Valderiz is intended for expression of fruit, vineyards and nature. As for the production of the wine, there is little intervention. There are no great extractions, and they do not use any type of external yeast to help the grape itself.
Half of the fermentation is in stainless steel deposits and the other half is in the barrels. Valderiz undergoes a 20 month aging in French oak barrels (80%) and American oak barrels (20%).
60% of the barrels are new and the rest are one wine.

The wine is very expressive Tinta del País variety, grown from organic farming, that intends to convey character and nature in the Ribera del Duero.

2020

Valderiz 2020 is a red wine that captivates with its harmonious balance of ripeness and vivacity. On the nose, it unfolds an array of aromas ranging from the subtle spices of oak and hints of cocoa to a bouquet of fruits including ripe cherries, blackcurrant, and black cherries, all layered over a base of warm stones. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with robust and seamlessly integrated tannins that give way to a rich and concentrated fruit profile. This wine boasts a robust structure and a lingering finish that beckons one to continue savoring.
2010 Valderiz is a round wine with a good attack on the palate which is marked by a heavy fruit load. A good acidity and mature tannins. Persistent. Spicy and oaky notes.

A pretty cherry colour. Clean and bright with a nice thin tear.

On the nose there is a pure expression of the Tinta del País variety. Ripe red and black fruit. Spices, toasted notes from the barrel and certain dairy notes.
2009 After a nice attack, this Spanish wine shows a warm and light mid palate, with abundant notes of fruit. It is a medium-bodied wine with a good acidity, nice and polished tannins and a long and pleasant finish with persistent notes of spices and hints of noble good at retro-olfaction.

Clean and very bright dark cherry red colour with maroon edges and slightly coloured thin tears.

Clean, crisp and expressive nasal aromas. The notes of very ripe red and black fruit stand out, very well combined with spices and toasted nuances. Some floral, milky and slightly balsamic hints are also noticed.
