About Valtravieso Reserva Finca La Atalaya

Valtravieso Reserva Finca La Atalaya is a Reserva red wine produced by Bodega Valtravieso in the D.O. Ribera de Duero with the Tinta Fina variety together with a small portion of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Valtravieso is a winery that was founded in the 1980s with the aim of promoting the great quality of Ribera de Duero wines: wines with body and soul that begin life in the Finca "La Revilla" estate itself; a place located in one of the highest areas of the territory (at 920 metres above sea level) and that, by applying innovative techniques, manages to exalt all the virtues of a Denomination of Origin with an international prestige.

In the vineyard, Valtravieso Reserva Finca La Atalaya takes full advantage of the limestone soil of the territory and the great contrast between day and night temperatures that the Atlantic climate brings. Typical conditions on the Spanish plateau that favour the quality of the native grape.

Once the grapes have been harvested manually at their optimum ripeness point, Valtravieso Reserva Finca La Atalaya ferments with its own skins for 35 days. It then spends 15 months in French oak barrels. Once bottled it continues refining fro around 12 months.

Valtravieso Reserva Finca La Atalaya is a red wine that presents the ripe fruit characteristics that are typical of Ribera de Duero, with the body and the fineness that oak conveys.

2015 Valtravieso Reserva 2015 is a red wine with ripe fruit and roasted elements on the nose, and structure and power on the palate.
