About Viña Bosconia Reserva

There are wines that do not need to assert themselves. Viña Bosconia Reserva is one of them.

From the Barrio de la Estación in Haro, in the heart of Rioja Alta, comes this blend of tempranillo, garnacha, graciano, and mazuelo, crafted in one of the most renowned enclaves of Spanish wine by Viña Tondonia, a historic winery. Founded in the 19th century, Viña Tondonia was the first winery of the DOCa Rioja that today, 130 years later, continues to produce wines with the same respect for time, place, and tradition.

The grapes for Viña Bosconia Reserva come from Finca El Bosque, a hillside vineyard located very close to the River Ebro, which is fully exposed to sunlight. This peculiarity allows for balanced ripening, completed by the clay and limestone soils that impart finesse and minerality to the clusters. The harvest of Viña Bosconia Reserva is done manually and transported in small poplar wood boxes to the winery, situated less than a kilometre away, ensuring the grapes arrive whole, fresh, and at their best. After being crushed, Viña Bosconia Reserva ferments using native yeasts in large oak vats and is left to rest for 5 years in American oak barrels (crafted in the winery's own cooperage). Before being bottled, Viña Bosconia Reserva is periodically racked and clarified with fresh egg whites, maintaining a gesture that pays homage to tradition.

Viña Bosconia is a classic Rioja, elegant and precise. A red wine with structure, depth, and that unmistakable style that only comes from respecting its origins. A wine that does not seek to follow trends: it sets them. A Rioja that tastes of history, yet also of discovery.
