About Viña Elena Bruma del Estrecho Finca CQ

Few places in the world can rival the D.O.P. Jumilla. Its diverse soils render it one of the most fascinating (if not unique) locales throughout Spanish territory, where limestone, sands, green marls, and iron-rich, brown and stony earths intermingle. But can you envision savoring all these elements in a single wine? This is achievable with Viña Elena Bruma del Estrecho Finca CQ.

Situated in the Término Arriba de Jumilla, in Murcia, lies the estate Casa Quemada (hence the initials CQ) where for the past seven years Elena Pacheco and Isio Ramos have been dedicated to the vineyard's revival. The setting is idyllic: perched at an altitude of 700 meters, nestled in a valley shielded by the Sierra de la Cingla and Peña Rubia, on a slope (with minimal water retention), with deep soils (abundant in organic matter and low in active limestone) and home to some 42 hectares of venerable vineyards (over 32 years old). Given all these factors, it's no wonder that both Elena and Isio are wholeheartedly invested in the project, performing soil pit studies to ascertain textures and composition. With a comprehensive understanding and control of the terrain, they are well-placed to make informed decisions, blending and assembling various plots that will form the soul of Viña Elena Bruma del Estrecho Finca CQ.

After the vineyard comes the winery, where stainless steel and French oak become the finest companions in crafting this monastrell monovarietal. Stainless steel, unmatched in sterility, ensures that each nuance and aspect of this indigenous variety is preserved across the different soils. As for the oak, which comes into play once the must has transformed into wine, it serves to refine and sculpt this exquisite creation.
