Viña Pomal Maturana Blanca is a white wine from the DOCa. Rioja crafted by Bodegas Bilbaínas. As its name implies, this wine is a single-varietal of Maturana Blanca.

The grapes for Viña Pomal Maturana Blanca are sourced from the town of Haro, specifically from a vineyard owned by the winery known as Paceta 14. This parcel, over fifteen years old, is situated at an altitude of approximately 448 metres and is heavily influenced by the Atlantic climate.

Viticulture is carried out with the natural cover crop that emerges spontaneously during the colder months. The harvest of the Viña Pomal Maturana Blanca grapes is conducted manually, and the grapes are transported to the winery in small crates to prevent damage and preserve their quality.

Once at the winery, the Viña Pomal Maturana Blanca grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation in new American oak barrels. The resulting must is left to rest on its lees for around three months. Prior to bottling, Viña Pomal Maturana Blanca is aged for four months in French oak barrels.

The Maturana Blanca grape is mentioned in documents dating back to 1622, making it the oldest variety in La Rioja.

Viña Pomal is the most renowned brand of Bodegas Bilbaínas, undoubtedly one of the region's benchmark wineries.
