About Viña Salceda Reserva

Viña Salceda Reserva is a red wine from the Rioja produced by Bodegas Viña Salceda. This winery is located in the municipality of Elciego, La Rioja Alavesa.

Viña Salceda Reserva is made from Tempranillo (95%) and a small percentage of Graciano (5%). The grapes come from vineyards with under-average performance on clay-limestone, suitable for growing such varieties.

In addition, the vineyards are grown in a sustainable way and little interventionist methods are used.

The development of Viña Salceda Reserva begins with a harvest and manual selection. Once in the winery, the fermentation process is carried out and the wine is aged for about 18 months in French and American oak.

2018
Viña Salceda Reserva 2018 is a red wine that on the nose offers aromas reminiscent of fresh cherries and plums, accompanied by spicy notes and a creamy background. Its palate is intense and complex, showcasing a very polished tannin, thanks to its years of aging, which imparts silkiness. A velvety and flavorful red wine, with a long finish and great aging potential.
 
2010 Powerful, wide and silky entrance. Tasty and round with vanilla notes and a presence of wild fruits. Good acidity and well integrated tannins. Very long finish.

Cherry red high layer. Clean, bright and deep.

Great aromatic intensity, ripe black fruits with spices and toasted notes. Mineral background.
2008 On the palate this wine is balanced, with good, direct attack. On the palate it is silky and tasty, filling the mouth with fruity sensations. A good acidity makes up for its noticeable tannins. Long and persistent finish, leaving toasted and spicy nuances. 

A dark ruby red colour with a maroon rim. Clean and bright.

Good aromatic intensity, clean and honest. Very ripe black fruit stands out, well balanced with toasted notes and spices. Subtle balsamic hints in the background. 
2006 Powerful and broad attack with a great well bodied mid palate. It shows a velvety texture. The tasty ripe black fruit is still dominant along with the good and creamy notes provided during the ageing. Very balanced wine with a good and not very marked acidity and integrated tannins, which still need some time to round out. Very long and persistent finish that coats the palate with nice spicy sensations.

Intense dark cherry colour with maroon reflections. Clean and bright wine with dense tears.

Very intense aromas, among which the notes of ripe black fruit stand out along with good toasted notes and multiple spices, both hot (black pepper and cloves) and sweet (vanilla, cacao). Subtle balsamic and herbal arômas are also felt. A wine that gains in intensity and expressiveness when it opens up.
2005 Wide and expressif attack. Balsamic that gives freshness and fruity notes. Elegant wine, frank, with good acidity. Good aftertaste, tasty and long.

Intense cherry color, with touches of red and glyceric tears.

Powerful and intense, highlighting the fruit (especially plums) with mint notes and hints of sweet spices at the end.
2004 Attack large, opulent and structured half mouth rounded tannins, long finish. Elegant wine, frank, with good acidity. Become aromatic notes of fruit and spices with toasted notes of fine wood.

Intense body color, ruby red, dark cherry trim.

Intense and complex. After stirring, notes of black fruit (blackberry, elderberry, blackthorn) merged with spicy (clove, vanilla and hints of black pepper).
