About Rafael Sastre

Rafael Sastre is a red wine from the Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Hermanos Sastre. This wine is a varietal Tempranillo.

The grapes are harvested from vineyards in La Horra and Roa, located about 800 metres of altitude on the slopes of the Douro. The age of the vines varies between 17 and 30 years.

The characteristics of this wine are given by the continental climate of the area, which can reach over 40 degrees in summer and drop to -15 ° in winter.

Herbicides, insecticides or mineral fertilizers are not used in the vineyard. Instead, there is an artisan culture.

The wine is aged for 10 months before bottling in new French and American oak barrels. Bodegas Hermanos Sastre is based on a very clear philosophy, it is "to develop a limited production with unlimited care. We take great pains to care".

Intense cherry colour with violet edges. Clean and bright wine with abundant tears which subtly stain the glass.
