Viña Vilano Reserva is a red wine made by the Viña Vilano winery in Pedrosa de Duero (Burgos) D.O. Ribera del Duero.
Viña Vilanois a cooperative society founded in 1975. It currently has more than 300 hectares of Tinta Fina (Tempranillo) vineyard, many of them over a hundred years old, with an annual potential production of more than 2 million kg of high quality grapes.
Viña Vilano combines the quality of these century-old vineyards, with a profound wine knowledge and the most modern technology, thereby producing high quality wines with all the character and typicality of Ribera del Duero wines.
Viña Vilano Reserve is a wine made with Tempranillo grapes from gobelet-trained vineyards that are more than 50 years old, located at an altitude of 800 meters on very poor soil.
The harvest is manual, and once in the cellar it macerates for 14 days in stainless steel tanks. In these same tanks the fermentation takes place over 10 days at a controlled temperature of 28°C. The wine is aged for 20 months in French and American oak barrels. Before being put on the market, it is left to stand in the bottle for 18 months.
