About Viña Zorzal Señora de las Alturas Blanco

Wherever it goes, the little bird of Viña Zorzal leaves its mark. It is not merely a symbol, but an echo of time, a silent witness to a land that has never ceased to pulse with life. The Sanz brothers understood this well when they took over from their father: it was not just about making wine, but about preserving a legacy. They committed to reviving ancient vineyards in the southwest of Navarra (DO Navarra and DOC Rioja) and to giving a voice back to the native varieties that had been relegated to the background by neglect (graciano and garnacha).

This is how Señora de las Alturas Blanco was born, the purest expression of the Pontigos estate in Navarra, where time has shaped a unique vineyard. Pre-phylloxera vines that have withstood the test of centuries, stoically, embedding their roots deep into history. Centenarian garnacha and viura, hand-harvested just as the sun begins to colour the horizon. In the winery, patience remains key: fermentation in open French oak barrels and Clayver ceramic containers, a slow malolactic fermentation, no more than a year of ageing between wood (viura) and concrete egg (garnacha blanca), and a final blend of both varieties to achieve the perfect balance.

Every glass of Viña Zorzal Señora de las Alturas Blanco is a tribute. To the untamed terroir of Navarra, to the hands that work it with respect, to the vision of those who knew how to look to the past to build the future. And the little thrush continues its flight, light, yet with the strength of one who never forgets its roots.
