About Viñas del Vero Chardonnay

Viñas del Vero Chardonnay is a Chardonnay variety white wine produced by Viñas de Vero, a winery in the D.O. Somontano.

Viñas del Vero is one of the leading producers in the Aragón denomination of Somontano. Founded in 1989 in Barbastro (Huesca) it took on the name Vero in honour of the river that runs alongside. With over 500 hectares of their own vineyards, they are committed to native varieties as well as prestigious varieties from elsewhere. They make modern wines to suit all kinds of palates, as well as being particularly appealing to a younger audience. It currently belongs to the González Byass group.

Viñas del Vero Chardonnay comes from the Pago Lapiedra. These are 30 year old vines planted in shallow, loam and low fertility soils, lying at an altitude of between 350 and 450 metres above sea level. They use traditional agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.

In the winery, the grapes are crushed, cooled and macerated with their own skins. After that, Viñas del Vero Chardonnay ferments for 7 days at a temperature that stays below 16ºC. Finally the wine is cold-stabilised and bottled.

Viñas del Vero Chardonnay is a product of one of the most prestigious French white grapes that grows perfectly in the Somontano terroir. A young white wine with elegant fruit expression.

2018 Viñas del Vero Chardonnay 2018 is a fruity white wine with intense aromas of tropical fruits, floral notes and herbaceous touches. On the palate it is fruity, flavoursome and elegant. A balanced wine that is easy to drink.
2014 Upon first taste, it presents itself as rich and fruit-laden. With a subtle bitterness, it reveals citrus undertones. The finish is extensive and lingering.

A radiant straw yellow hue. Crisp with golden tinges.

2012 Good attack, dense and rich on the palate, leaving fruity and citrus flavours. Mildly bitter notes leave a nice, long and persistent finish.

Clean nose, medium intensity. Aromas of tropical and citrus fruits prevail, along with floral and herbal nuances. Light notes of green almonds and minerals appear in the background.
2010 Flavor is outstanding for its fruity, elegance, lightness and freshness. It is a delicious wine, rich in sensations.
