About Vincent Gaudry Constellation du Scorpion

Adhering to the principles of biodynamics, the various constellations of the zodiac radiate forces that enhance or diminish the vitality of plants to varying degrees. Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn govern the root, Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius influence flowering, Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces preside over the leaf. Finally, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius have an effect on the fruit and seed. Vincent Gaudry, one of the pioneering vignerons in Sancerre (Loire) to implement these methods across his 11-hectare estate, is a devout follower of the zodiacal signs. So much so that he has become a distinguished biodynamic mentor, placing such significance on the moon and the stars' influence that he has even named one of his wines after the Scorpio constellation.

The Vincent Gaudry Constellation du Scorpion is a wine crafted from pure sauvignon blanc grapes. Old vines planted on a slope beneath a forest where the soil is a composite of flint with siliceous clay. Cultivated under certified biodynamic conditions and with the aid of a horse, the result is an honest, precise, and unadulterated grape. Handpicked and harvested, the pressed grapes ferment and age in 6,000-liter conical oak vats. The wine is then bottled unclarified and unfiltered, with only 50-60 mg of total sulfur per liter (half of what is typically used by neighboring winemakers).

Guided by the biodynamic calendar and meticulous craftsmanship, Vincent Gaudry Constellation du Scorpion is a true expression of a singular terroir. A white wine that, as its name suggests, is a product of the power of the stars.
