About Vinyes d'Olivardots Blanc de Gresa

They say wine is liquid memory, and at Vinyes d’Olivardots, each bottle is also a legacy passed from mother to daughter. In the D.O. Empordà, amidst the pebbles of Capmany (Girona) and the formidable force of the tramontana winds, a dream was born: to capture the essence of this land with intense character in a wine that speaks with elegance and a distinct voice.
 
Founded by Carme Casacuberta, a chemist and oenologist, this small family winery blends science with sensitivity. Alongside her husband and, in recent years, also with her daughter, the oenologist Carlota Pena, who was awarded the title Best Young Winemaker of the Year 2025 by the esteemed critic and Master of Wine, Tim Atkin, they have transformed their passion into a steadfast commitment to biodiversity, respect for nature, and the revival of indigenous varieties.
 
Vinyes d'Olivardots Blanc de Gresa is the refined fruit of this endeavor. A white wine crafted from white Grenache, grey Grenache, and white Carignan from century-old vines, cultivated according to biodynamic principles. The grapes are vinified with care: cold pre-maceration and skin maceration in stainless steel tanks, with meticulous and varied fermentations depending on the variety, culminating in an 8-month aging process in 500-liter oak vats with lees stirring. The result is a complex, saline white wine with notes of wildflowers and Mediterranean herbs that caresses the palate with elegance and precision, paying homage to the character of L’Empordà.
