As he himself says: "The one who wants it the most wins"; and it is evident that Javier San Pedro Ortega is unmatched. Perhaps this overwhelming eagerness has propelled him to become one of the most promising winemakers of the D.O.Ca. Rioja, a true success story who, several years ago, bravely decided to embark on a solo journey. Much has happened since then. No less than 21 distinct creations, each with its own uniqueness. Undoubtedly, one of the most special is Viuda Negra Las Levantadas.
 
Above all, each of Javier San Pedro Ortega's wines aims to tell a story. In the case of Viuda Negra Las Levantadas, this white wine narrates the tale of Las Levantadas, the highest area of the Laguardia vineyard that lends its name to this white wine where, despite the poor soil, the white varieties thrive beautifully. This tradition, revived by Javier, dates back to when previous generations chose to plant malvasía, tempranillo blanco, and viura in this area. For Javier, who learned from his grandfather, it was clear, and despite advice warning him that the idea would not work, he persisted with his plan. And that entire approach turned out to be a success.
 
Regarding the production of Viuda Negra Las Levantadas, few producers are as dedicated as Javier, who, during harvest time, is capable of going several days without sleep. Such madness is committed when passion drives your work. Viuda Negra Las Levantadas ferments in stainless steel tanks and remains in contact with its lees for less than a year.
