Each one is a unique masterpiece, the result of years of meticulous care in the vineyard and a philosophy that blends respect for nature, flawless technique, and pure passion. Discussing the wines of Brigitte and Ewald Tscheppe is to delve into a realm where magic intertwines with precision, and where limited production transforms each release into a small treasure that vanishes in mere days.

Werlitsch Ex Vero III, one of the gems in their Ex Vero range, is a perfect exemplar. Crafted in the Styria, Austria region, it combines sauvignon blanc and chardonnay sourced from vines planted on the most rocky and impoverished elevations, endowing it with extraordinary concentration and depth. Each Ex Vero reflects the altitude of its vineyard: I from the lower part, II from mid-height, and III from the summit, with a vibrant energy and a luminosity that seems to emanate from the land itself.

The spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts in open oak vats, the maturation of 24 months in 3,000-litre vats and a further 12 months in bottle, along with the absence of fining, filtering, or added sulphites, render Werlitsch Ex Vero III a pure, authentic, and almost indescribable experience.

2021

Werlitsch Ex Vero III 2021 is a white wine that astonishes from the outset. Its light golden hue draws attention, heralding a symphony of aromas that unfolds with intensity. On the nose, one can discern notes of gooseberry, apricot, orange peel, yellow apple, and subtle mineral scents reminiscent of fresh stones and silicon, accompanied by a delicate floral hint of white blossoms. On the palate, it reveals itself as dense and full-bodied, powerful and mature, offering a unique experience. Recommended for its aromatic complexity and solid structure on the palate, features that stand out in its 2021 vintage.
