About Zárate Tras Da Viña

Zárate Tras Da Viña is a white wine from the D.O Rías Baixes produced by the Zárate winery. This is a single variety wine, made exclusively with the Albariño grape.

The grapes used come from vineyards that are over 50 years old, home to granite soils. The density of the plantation is 1,500 vines per hectare. The region, located in the autonomous community of Galicia, is home to an Atlantic climate, with abundant rainfall and mild temperatures, although each subzone has their own characteristic microclimate.

The grapes used to produce this wine are harvested manually. Once the harvest has been carried out, the grapes partially undergo malolactic fermentation and are then left to alcoholically ferment spontaneously. The must is then racked in deposits, eliminating the thicker lees, leaving behind fine lees. The wine is then aged for 24 months in the same deposits, during which pigeage is not carried out.

Zárate is a family run winery located in the heart of the Valle del Salnés and is situated in a sixteenth century manor house that was renovated to house a winery and warehouse. The winery is a pioneer in the production and development of Albariño wines, and has experienced such success that since the mid-century, they have produced all of their wines in limited production.

Zárate Tras Da Viña 2021 is a white wine distinguished by its elegance and structure on the palate. Despite its youthfulness, it exhibits a more pronounced presence on the palate than on the nose, where its delicate aromas evoke green apples and citrus fruits. On the palate, its body is counterbalanced by a crispness that beckons one to continue savoring. Upon serving, it unfolds gradually, revealing a crisp and defined profile that enhances its sophistication.
2013 Invigorating and flavorsome, with a bitter edge and a silky mouthfeel. It melds varietal aromas with mineral undertones.
