About Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Roche Granitique

Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Roche Granitique is a monovarietal Riesling white wine from the AOC Alsace produced by Domaine Zind-Humbrecht.

Domaine Zind-Humbrecht is a winery resulting from the union in 1959 of two families with a long winemaking tradition. They have been cultivating organically since 1998 and biodynamically since 1997, although they have been certified as such since 2002.

Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Roche Granitique is part of the "Roches" series, in which the influence of the different soils on which the vineyards are found is demonstrated by various monovarietal wines. The collection’s soils are granite, limestone and volcanic stone.

The vineyards for Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Roche Granitique are located on granite soil that is poor in organic matter, on the hillsides of Brand. They have an average age of 33 years and produce around 65 hectolitres per hectare. These granite soils produce vertical wines that are expressive at an early age and with a good aromatic potential.

2016 Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Roche Granitique 2016 has aromas of white fruit such as pears, mixed with more toasted aromas and minerals, such as rock powder. On the palate it provides a smooth and silky structure where a ripe acidity causes a pleasant final salivation. It is therefore a pleasant, delicate and persistent wine. It is expected to evolve fantastically in the bottle over the coming years.
