About Celler Kripta Icònic Gran Reserva Brut

Celler Kripta Icònic Gran Reserva Brut is a cava crafted by Celler Kripta-Agustí Torelló Mata in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, the heartland of Cava.

Agustí Torelló Mata embarked on his journey in the cava industry at a tender age and in 1953 established the first wine analysis laboratory in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia. In 1959, he founded his own winery.

This cava is a blend of Macabeo, Xarel·lo, and Parellada grape varieties sourced from estate vineyards situated on a vast array of soil types. The Macabeo originates from vineyards in Sitges, set on soils composed of gravel and caliche at elevations ranging from sea level to 200 meters. The Xarel·lo is harvested from vines near Montserrat, planted at altitudes of 200-400 meters on calcareous clay soils. Finally, the Parellada comes from vineyards located at 400-900 meters above sea level in Castillo de Mediona, on sandy and slate soils. This cava is a Brut Nature, hence no dosage is added.

Celler Kripta Icònic Gran Reserva Brut matures for 72 months in the bottle. Extended aging processes are employed to endow the cava with complexity and a delicate integration of effervescence.

Celler Kripta Icònic Gran Reserva Brut 2017 unveils with aromas of crisp apple and zesty lemon, interlaced with nuanced hints of mature white blossoms. On the palate, it presents itself with understated elegance, accentuating a refined bitterness characteristic of a well-aged cava Brut Nature. Its texture is creamy, with a gentle flow and enveloping notes of toasted almond, undertones of butter, and a subtle hint of anise. The finish is distinguished and persistent, leaving an impression of fresh yeast and a lingering scent of roses.
2014 Agustí Torelló Mata Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2014 is a mature sparkling wine exuding scents of white fruit, balsamic hints, and spiced undertones. On the palate, it presents a fruity profile, a velvety texture, and enduring persistence. This wine features seamlessly integrated bubbles, well-balanced acidity, and an extensive finish.
2010 Fruit-forward with an excellent acidity profile. It is dry, exhibiting an enduring and persistent finish.

Straw hue with greenish reflections.

Nuances of white fruit, hints of toast, balsamic notes, and a touch of spice.
2009 On the palate it is broad with well integrated carbon. A long and persistent finish.

Pale golden yellow colour with green reflections.

On the nose there are aromas supported by an aging with notes of butter and toasted bread with background of ripe fruit.
2008 It is a large cava, which also shows a fine carbonic acid gas, very well integrated. The notes of the ageing are melted together with the ripe fruit, the toasted nuances and dried fruits. The finish is long and persistent.

Pale yellow colour with greenish reflections. Thin bubbles which form a crown on the surface.

Initially, the aromas provided during the ageing appear along with milky notes and toasted bread. In the background, the aromas of ripe white fruit and stone fruit appear together with delicate floral hints.
2007 Fine attack on the palate, with very well-integrated fizziness. Good development on the palate. A creamy fizziness is felt and a background of vanilla, toast, cakes and fruit from its long ageing. A very long and complex aftertaste, in which the aromas from the nose and mouth are repeated.

A golden yellow colour. Clean. Fine and persistent bubbles, slow-rising.

An elegant aroma, with fine notes of ripe fruit, vanilla and smooth toasted notes with a balsamic, smoky background. Good complexity.
2006 Pleasant and fresh attack and a large mid-palate in which the carbonic acid gas is very integrated. The notes of the ageing are melted with ripe fruit, toasted nuances and dried fruits. The finish is large, long and persistent.

Straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. Thin and persistent bubbles that evolve slowly forming a consistent rosary and crown.

Fine aromas of the ageing with lactic notes of fresh butter on a background of ripe fruit.
