About Alta Vista Premium Cabernet Sauvignon

Alta Vista Premium Cabernet Sauvignon is a wood-aged red wine made by Alta Vista in Mendoza (Argentina) with the Cabernet Sauvignon variety.

When the Aulan family, owners of the renowned Piper Heidsieck Maison de Champagne, discovered the charms of Argentine terroirs, they immediately decided to start their own project in Mendoza. Under the name Alta Vista they produce Argentine wines that reflect the full authenticity of their origin and that have now given them a reputation as one of the country’s leading wineries.

Alta Vista Premium Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Cabernet Sauvignon vines. A relatively new variety to Argentina but one that has adapted perfectly to the high altitude terroirs of more than 900 metres above sea level. They are cultivated using environmentally-friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out at the optimum point of ripeness.

In the winery, all of the Alta Vista Premium Cabernet Sauvignon clusters undergo a short pre-fermentation maceration, malolactic fermentation and a post-fermentation maceration of around 10 days. The wine then spends 10 months in French and American oak barrels.

Alta Vista Premium Cabernet Sauvignon is a clear demonstration of how well the Cabernet Sauvignon variety is suited to high altitude Argentine terroirs. An unmissable deep and concentrated wine.

Alta Vista Premium Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 is a concentrated red wine with intense aromas of black fruits, notes of fresh herbs and chalky touches. On the palate it is concentrated, flavoursome and enveloping. A wine with fine tannins, refreshing acidity and a long and persistent finish.
