About Anne Sophie Pic & Michel Chapoutier Côtes du Rhône
If you seek the definition of epicurean, Michel Chapoutier is the quintessential embodiment. His life and work revolve around refined pleasure, whether in wine or gastronomy, and he relentlessly pursues excellence in every sensory experience. He is someone who savours and celebrates life in every bottle, every terroir, and every pairing.
A passionate winemaker and charismatic figure from the northern Rhône Valley in France, Michel took the helm of the family business in 1990 and has been astonishing ever since. He has gained worldwide recognition for his tireless quest for the finest terroirs and for pioneering biodynamic viticulture long before it became fashionable.
His passion for wine and gastronomy has led him to collaborate with Michelin-starred chefs, creating the Chefs’ Range of wines from the northern Rhône. Among them is Anne-Sophie Pic, who began her career in the dining room of the family restaurant, Maison Pic. After the untimely death of her father and the loss of the third Michelin star, Anne-Sophie took over the kitchen without formal training and, thanks to her talent and determination, managed to regain the star, becoming the fourth woman in history to achieve three Michelin stars.
As a result of these collaborations, we discover Anne-Sophie Pic & Michel Chapoutier Côtes du Rhône, a wine that embodies Michel's epicurean philosophy: pleasure, elegance, and authenticity. The vineyards of Grenache Noir and Syrah hail from Drôme, Gard, Vaucluse, and Ardèche, on clay-limestone soils that impart minerality and freshness. The winemaking process includes full destemming and a two-week maceration, while the ageing is conducted in vats, aiming to express the pure essence of the terroir without artifice.
The result is a gastronomic, elegant, and straightforward Côtes du Rhône that invites one to savour the moment. A wine that, like Michel, celebrates life with style, passion, and a touch of sophistication.
