About M. Chapoutier Hermitage de Le Méal Rouge

M. Chapoutier Hermitage de Le Méal Rouge is a parcela red wine. A Syrah monovarietal produced by Maison Chapoutier in the Rhone Valley with Appellation Ermitage Controlée.

Maison Chapoutier was founded in 1808 and has been one of the pioneers in promoting biodynamic cultivation. It is one of the wineries that has been recognised most frequently by The Wine Advocate, which has awarded its wines with the highly valued 100 Parker points on a host of occasions. In 2015, it made a wine record with one hundred points from the same winery, obtaining them in nine of its wines.

The grapes for M. Chapoutier Hermitage de Le Méal Rouge come from a single plot named Coteau de Méal. The vineyard is located on a hillside formed with pebble and clayey terraces. The vineyard is about 50 years old and is harvested manually.

To produceM. Chapoutier Hermitage de Le Méal Rouge the grape is destemmed and vinified in a small cement tank. The skins macerate with the must to obtain the soft and silky tannins needed to ensure that the wine ends up being long-lived. The pressed wine.
