About Anxo Martín

Anxo Martín is a white wine crafted under the DO. Ribeiro, capturing the magical essence of Galicia (northern Spain), inspired by the legend of a mythical creature that emerges from the Miño River during the night of San Xoán (Saint John's Eve). This festivity, celebrated from June 23rd to 24th, marks the beginning of summer with bonfires, "queimada" (an alcoholic beverage consumed after a spell and believed to protect against curses), and rituals to ward off evil spirits.
Half man, half fish, Anxo Martín dwells in the river's depths; he is the guardian of its treasures. On Saint John's Eve, he takes human form and emerges under the moonlight to enchant the youth returning from celebrating the most magical night of the year.
 
The wine Anxo Martín conveys this seductive power through the harmonious balance of its varieties: treixadura, albariño, and godello, which undergo an initial aging of 6 months on their lees, imparting a pleasant volume and creaminess; followed by a second rest of another six months in stainless steel tanks, where the wine is refined before bottling. The result is a fresh, complex, and silky white wine, with intense fruity notes that captivate the palate.
