About Mara Martín

Mara Martín is a white wine crafted by the Martín Códax group within the D.O. Monterrei. This designation is characterised by its Atlantic nature, yet it bears continental influence as it is situated in the south of Ourense, bordering Portugal. This results in a drier climate than the rest of Galicia, with hotter summers and very cold winters.

Mara Martín is a single-varietal godello brimming with freshness and aromatic intensity. The winemaking process involves fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by a three-month maturation period in contact with its lees.

Considering the rich mythological legends that abound in the heart of Galicia, the alluring and enchanting mouras guard magical secrets. Drawing inspiration from them, Mara Martín embodies the most modern, cosmopolitan, and versatile aspect of these figures rooted in the traditions of this region.

Mara Martín 2024 is a vibrant white wine. Visually, it exhibits a straw-yellow hue with greenish glints. On the nose, distinct herbal notes such as fennel and anise are evident, complemented by nuances of reinette apple and a subtle hint of quince. On the palate, it is fresh and enveloping, leaving a prolonged aftertaste with a pleasant citrus presence that lingers at the end. An aromatic wine that is easy to enjoy.

Mara Martín Godello 2023 presents itself with a cheerful straw-yellow hue, complemented by greenish glints. As one brings it closer to the nose, a bouquet of medium intensity unfurls where fresh apple takes center stage, enhanced by a delicate hint of anise. On the palate, this Galician white wine beckons with a refreshing and harmoniously balanced sip, leaving behind a very pleasant citrus aftertaste reminiscent of a stroll through the verdant landscapes of Galicia. It is a youthful and light-bodied wine, best enjoyed in its early years.
2022 Mara Martín 2022 is a white wine that offers fruity aromas on the nose (white fruit) accompanied by prominent aniseed notes of fennel on a background of quince. On the palate it has tasty citrus freshness. An enveloping white wine with a long aftertaste.
2015 Robust and unctuous. Well-structured and concentrated. Captivating with a prolonged, lingering finish.

Distinct varietal and fruit notes, predominantly apple and pear. Subtle floral undertones.
2013 On the palate, it is crisp, enveloping, and velvety, underpinned by a robust acidity. Citrus notes come to the fore.

Straw yellow in hue with greenish reflections. It is clear and luminous.

The nose reveals floral aromas and scents of white fruits such as apple and pear, alongside herbaceous undertones (fennel, aniseed, etc). It has a medium to high intensity.
2011 In the palate, this Spanish wine is fresh and very pleasant. It has a good mid palate with a creamy and unctuous texture. It has a good acidity and an average finish with citric hints. Excellent value for money.

Intense, clean and very bright straw yellow colour.

Clean nasal aromas with a medium intensity. Its notes of white fruit such as pear or apple are released along with floral and grassy aromas. Some citrus aromas are felt in the background.
