Arnot-Roberts Watson Ranch is a wood-aged white wine made by Arnot-Roberts with the Chardonnay variety in the AVA Napa Valley, California (USA).
Arnot-Roberts was set up by two childhood friends in 2001. Napa Valley natives, Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts are keen to showcase Northern California’s finest vineyards. As a result, they make small production wines in true “old world” style.
The Arnot-Roberts Watson Ranch vines were planted in 1993 on clay-limestone soils covered with marine fossils, a rarity in the Napa Valley that results in an exceptional Chardonnay with a beautiful expression thanks to respectful agriculture and the Pacific Ocean climate.
Following a manual harvest, the Arnot-Roberts Watson Ranch grapes are pressed in whole bunches and fermented spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine then ages in used French oak barrels for 10 months.
The product of a unique terroir and impeccable work, Arnot-Roberts Watson Ranch is a fresh and mineral white wine made in the French style. A Californian Chardonnay worth trying.
