In the case of the Ars Collecta range from Cavas Codorníu, it is a collection of cavas launched in honour of Josep Raventós, who was responsible for crafting the first bottle of cava in 1872. This sparkling wine was created by replicating the French production method known as champenoise or traditional, but using the Penedès varieties macabeo, xarel·lo, and parellada. Its success was such that, nearly five centuries later, this winery, headquartered in the municipality of Sant Sadurní D'Anoia, has become a prestigious brand with significant international reach, boasting distributors, wineries, and vineyards in various countries.

As the most exclusive collection of the winery, Codorníu Ars Collecta (meaning "collection of art") includes limited edition cavas that reflect the oenological legacy of over five centuries. Among them, Ars Collecta Josep Raventós Gran Reserva is derived from a select blend of the oldest vineyards and the finest grapes of the varieties pinot noir, chardonnay, xarel·lo, parellada, and macabeo. These are crafted in an artisanal manner at Celler Jaume, a micro-winery where innovation, research, and quality are paramount. The grapes undergo an initial fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by a secondary fermentation in the bottle, according to the traditional method, where they remain on the lees for 60 months before disgorgement and dosage.
