Artuke 2025 is a young red wine from Rioja, juicy and unabashedly fruity, akin to a basket of freshly picked sour cherries with a floral hint of heather. On the nose, it is vibrant and aromatic, with a playful touch reminiscent of bubblegum and fine sweets, yet retaining its freshness. On the palate, it feels velvety, very easy to enjoy, with almost imperceptible tannins and ripe fruit that imparts a sweet and pleasant sensation. A modern, pure, and charming red, perfect for when you crave something light, straightforward, and joyful.

About Artuke

The year was 1991 when Roberto De Miguel Blanco resolved to take the definitive step in launching his grand project. He was acutely aware of the quality of his wines. He was confident that what they offered could be staunchly defended as a worthy heir to a long-standing tradition. Now, the latest link in the enduring chain that breathes life into this saga is embodied in Arturo and Kike. Two names. One mission. A singular passion. From the fusion of both emerges Artuke, one of the finest wineries that also lends its identity to one of the premier wines of the DOCa Rioja.
 
From Baños de Ebro, in La Rioja Alavesa, comes this carbonic maceration red, born from the plots the winery owns in this village set upon clay-limestone soils. This foundation is the source and origin that breathes life into the old vineyards planted in 1902, which today continue under the care and dedication of these brothers who strive to convey and preserve the essence of this region. This latter task is no easy feat, as it requires adhering to traditional production methods, which sometimes entails twice the effort. This same patience and sacrifice are the driving force behind Artuke, which, despite lacking certification, is cultivated organically, using only copper and sulphur.
 
Artuke is harvested by hand and brought to the winery, built in 1984, where the grapes are processed with stems. After an initial selection, Artuke is directly transferred into the fermentation tanks to undergo carbonic maceration. This winemaking technique, very common and typical of this area, involves attempting to initiate alcoholic fermentation within the berry itself, while the grape is still intact, before the clusters are crushed. This process achieves great juiciness and intensity. Finally, once racked and pressed, Artuke is bottled and released to the world, ready to surprise and captivate the hearts of red wine enthusiasts in general, and particularly those passionate about DOCa Rioja.
