About Benoit Courault Gilbourg

Benoit Courault Gilbourg is a natural white wine elaborated with the Chenin blanc variety by Benoit Courault in the Loire area (France).

An advanced student of great natural winegrowers such as Dominique Derain, Yvon Métras and Eric Pfifferling, Benoit Courault created his own project in the Loire Valley. A total of 5 hectares of old vines that he works in the most natural way has allowed him to obtain pure, delicate and very pleasant wines. These productions have made him one of the most popular winegrowers in the Loire in a short space of time.

Benoit Courault Gilbourg comes from old vines planted on hillsides with clay-schist soils. Ecological agriculture is practiced with biological and organic treatments and avoiding any product which could damage the purest expression of the grape.

In the cellar, the Benoit Courault Gilbourg grapes are gently pressed and the must obtained is fermented with native yeasts in semi-muids. The wine then ages in used French oak barrels for 12 months. Finally, it’s bottled without clarifying, filtering or adding SO2.

As with all the wines by this artisan winemaker, Benoit Courault Gilbourg is a wine that surprises with its exceptional purity. A fleshy Chenin full of fresh fruit.
