Decántalo dresses up in style
Following the Goyas, the Oscars, and the most glamorous film festivals, we couldn't be left behind! Decántalo donned its finest attire to celebrate 15 years of passion for wine. Fifteen years of growth, learning, and, above all, toasting! Although it all began almost by chance, when the founders Héctor Pla and Oriol Ripoll decided to create a demo to prove that e-commerce was the future, no one imagined that this small online store would eventually become one of the wine e-commerce companies with the greatest international projection.
Reaching this milestone, there was no better way to commemorate the journey than surrounded by all those who have been part of this exciting adventure. At our photocall, we had the honour of hosting prominent figures from the wine world, hailing from various sectors: journalists, distributors, wineries, and great friends of the industry. Among them, notable names such as Álvaro Palacios, Raúl Pérez, Remelluri, José Pariente, Abadía Retuerta, Muga, Clos Mogador, Clos Martinet, Aalto, Rioja Alta, Protos, Albamar, Torelló, Gramona, Recaredo, Viña Zorzal, Casa Castillo, Cune, Mauro, Artuke, Alma de Carraovejas, Enate, Terras Gauda, Gonzalez Byass, Vintae, 4 Kilos, Artadi, Juan Gil, Ramón Bilbao, Borsao, Torres, Luis Cañas and many more. Undoubtedly, a celebration of great stature!
Our new home: a dream come true
While these 15 years have filled us with pride, what truly excites us is having celebrated them in our new warehouse. An impressive space of 1,500 square metres, where every corner is designed to be 100% efficient. With a climate-controlled area of 6,000 m³ and state-of-the-art technology, we have invested time and resources to ensure we offer the best service, attending to the smallest detail.
The magic of our logistics centre
But what makes our warehouse unique? Decántalo boasts the only semi-automated system in Spain, capable of managing over 9,000 references and 200,000 bottles, processing up to 2,000 orders daily. Every part of our centre is designed to optimise space and time: from temperature control (ranging between 18 and 22º), to a revolutionary machine that allows us to store references at 12 metres high, maximising every square metre.
Innovation in picking
One of our greatest achievements is the improvement in picking operations, an automated process that selects and retrieves products from our warehouse to prepare orders. Thanks to technologies such as QR codes and our own identification and classification system, we can guarantee a minimal error rate of just 0.2%, enabling us to offer an ultra-fast and highly efficient service.
Commitment to sustainability and workplace safety
At Decántalo, we not only care about providing the best customer service but also about taking care of our planet and our employees. The entire climate control system is powered by solar energy, thanks to our solar panels, and we have designed a space that reduces the physical strain on our workers, enhancing their occupational health. Because being efficient also means caring for everyone who is part of this project.
A party to remember
Thus, the celebration of our 15th anniversary in the new warehouse was the perfect excuse for our guests to discover all these innovations in person. Surrounded by excellent food and exceptional wines selected by our expert Nacho Martínez, we ensured that this celebration was a true feast for the senses. And best of all, with the excitement of continuing to toast to many more years of success, innovation, and, of course, fine wine.
