About Boris Champy Pommard En Boeuf

One must possess extraordinary strength to be a triathlete swimming across the San Francisco Bay or to complete the pilgrimage from Dijon to Santiago de Compostela. However, this strength is not solely physical; it is also mental. It is this very strength that has propelled Boris Champy to become a pioneering vintner in Burgundy. His determination and passion have driven him to push the boundaries of viticulture, employing biodynamic methods and leaving his mark on every project he undertakes. Whatever Boris touches is transformed, not only by his skill but by his clear vision and his ability to remain steadfast in the face of any challenge.

After training and working in Napa Valley, California, and managing the prestigious French wineries Maison Louis Latour and Clos des Lambrays, Boris decided to forge his own path in Nantoux, in the Côte de Beaune, Burgundy. This estate, a testament to his commitment to biodynamic viticulture and sustainability, became the first to receive Demeter certification in Burgundy and has established itself as a model of innovation and respect for nature.  

Boris Champy Pommard En Boeuf is the epitome of this approach. This wine hails from the En Boeuf vineyard, in the northern part of Pommard, an area with good airflow and proximity to the river, ideal for cultivating pinot noir with freshness and elegance. All treatments are organic and biodynamic, and the harvest is done by hand, selecting grapes at their optimal ripeness. The vinification is carried out naturally, without additives beyond a small dose of sulphur, with maceration in barrels that maximizes the expression of the terroir. After 12 months of ageing in barrels, with half being new oak, the result is a wine of great complexity and character.

Boris allows nothing to impede him. Every stage of his project, much like every stroke in the water or every kilometre of the Camino de Santiago, is another step towards excellence. And, like the triathlete who reaches the finish line, Boris Champy Pommard En Boeuf is the reward for that dedication.

Boris Champy Pommard En Boeuf 2021 dazzles with its medium-intensity ruby-purple hue. On the nose, fresh aromas of ripe cherries and raspberries emerge. Upon tasting, a lively dance of fruits unfolds, accompanying from the first sip to an animated and balanced finish. The wine exhibits a fluid and harmonious profile that makes it accessible and enjoyable, with a fine aftertaste that invites one to relish each glass.
