About Cénit Pago Las Salinas 2020

In the secluded heart of the Tierra del Vino de Zamora (Castilla y León) lies a silent treasure. A nearly forgotten viticultural heritage, comprised of century-old vines that still withstand the passage of time with dignity. These vineyards, planted over a century ago, many predating even the phylloxera, have endured thanks to their deep roots in clay-limestone soils and the wisdom passed down through generations of vintners.

It is within this context of historical richness and gradual neglect that Viñas del Cénit was born in 2004, with a clear mission: to protect and breathe new life into this precious legacy. From the left bank of the River Duero, the winery embarks on a patient and respectful recovery effort, convinced that these exceptional vineyards must not only be preserved but also narrated through wine.

Cénit Pago Las Salinas is the embodiment of that vision. Originating from a unique site and crafted exclusively from tempranillo with small, concentrated clusters, this wine captures the purest essence of the land. Carefully harvested and meticulously selected—first by cluster, then berry by berry—it ferments in small vats with gentle and precise handling. Its maturation extends for 20 months in barrels, resulting in a wine that is profound, elegant, and brimming with authenticity.
