Tasting notes Corimbo 2022
Red wine Aged in wood. 14 months in French and American oak barrels.
Corimbo 2022 is a red wine that impresses with an unexpected freshness for a vintage as warm as 2022: ripe red fruit bursts on the nose with hints of aromatic herbs and a whisper of minerality, all wrapped in oak so subtle it almost goes unnoticed. On the palate, it is juicy and vibrant, with cherries predominating, yet there is also a note reminiscent of blackberries that intertwines with polished tannins, giving a sensation of fullness without losing lightness. Long, pleasurable, and full of energy, it is one of those reds that invites uncorking without excuses, perfect for both a chat among friends and accompanying a special dinner.

About Corimbo
The Peninsula Shanghai is among the most luxurious hotels in the world. Any experience within its four walls, no matter how modest, holds the potential to become something grand. What might a true wine enthusiast expect when visiting its bar or restaurant? Possibly a menu featuring the finest wines from every corner of the globe. And among them is a Spanish offering: Bodegas La Horra with its red wine, Corimbo.
Corimbo is the single-varietal tempranillo that won over Jean Claude Terdjemane, maître and sommelier of the hotel’s Sir Elly’s restaurant. He did not hesitate for a moment to add it to the wine list!
Experts in this variety, Bodegas La Horra studied the diverse soils of Spain to find the most suitable terroir for planting. From this research, they decided to establish their project in the La Horra region (Burgos). This location, with a rich winemaking tradition dating back to pre-Roman times, allows them to extract the best from the grape and the soil. Thus, this young winery, still in its implementation phase, makes a strong entrance in both the national and international markets.
Corimbo is crafted from vineyards located in Pagos de La Horra and Roa (Burgos). These are 25-year-old vines on average, cultivated through organic viticulture without irrigation. Harvesting is done manually, with grapes sorted on a selection table.
Once at the winery, the vinification of Corimbo involves spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. It then ages for a minimum of 12 months in French and American oak barrels. Finally, both stabilization and clarification are carried out using natural methods.
Corimbo is a red wine that perfectly expresses the character of the Ribera del Duero with great finesse. Don’t miss out!

This long wine shows the Riberal del Duero's landscape in Burgos in an excellent vintage, marked by warm summer but with glints of freshness of red fruits. Balanced, elegant and refined.
