About Cosme Palacio Tinto 1894

Cosme Palacio Tinto 1894 is a Tempranillo red wine from Bodegas Palacio that begins life at the foot of one of the most privileged areas of the Rioja D.O.Ca.

With a small production, Cosme Palacio Tinto 1894 has managed to capture the dynamic spirit of a privileged region likeLaguardia and the know-how of a family full of tradition. It consists of a tribute to the year that Palacio was founded (1894); a winery that has used its experience and knowledge of the area to turn its wines into an international benchmark.

The old vines of Cosme Palacio Tinto 1894 lie between the Sierra de Cantabria and the Ebro River. A Tempranillo that grows and develops in the most optimal conditions, due both to the terroirs and the continental climate; qualities that the Palacio Family knows how to take advantage of, with low yield and high quality productions.

In the cellar, the alcoholic fermentation of Cosme Palacio Tinto 1894 is carried out in tanks at 24ºC with two pump-overs per day to enhance colour and homogenise volume. The maceration with skins lasts at least one month, and a gently pressing is then performed in a vertical wooden press. The wine is aged for 7 months in top quality French oak barrels on fine lees with weekly battonage.

Cosme Palacio Tinto 1894 consists of a Limited Edition that allows you to enjoy the properties of a wine produced in the heart of the D.O. Ca Rioja at its best.
2016

Cosme Palacio Tinto 1894 2016 is a robust and vigorous red, exhibiting a deep crimson hue with purplish glints. Olfactorily, it is exceptionally aromatic and intricate, boasting an array of fruity nuances (blackberry, wild berries, blueberry, sloe), varietal notes (licorice, cinnamon, vanilla), and floral hints (roses). On the palate, it is velvety, with exquisitely fine tannins. It possesses a prolonged and invigorating acidity, infused with flavors of mint-infused chocolate. The finish is extensive and fruit-laden, with a honeyed texture.

Cosme Palacio Tinto 1894 2015 is a red wine boasting scents of red fruit, hints of dried rose petals, and nuances of licorice. On the palate, it is articulate, encompassing, and vinous. A wine replete with fruit-driven sensations complemented by a refreshingly vibrant and well-structured acidity. The finish is extensive and enduring.
