About Cristom Eileen Vineyard Pinot Noir

Cristom Eileen Vineyard Pinot Noir is a barrel-aged red wine made by the Cristom Vinyards winery with the Pinot Noir red variety in Villamette Valley, Oregon (USA).

Cristom Vinyards is run by engineer, Paul Gerrie, winemaker Cristom Steve Doerner and grower Marcos Feltz. The vineyards and winery are certified as Low Input Viticulture & Enology (LIVE), and they use completely sustainable agriculture and minimal intervention winemaking. This means they create very expressive and mineral Pinot Noir wines.

Cristom Eileen Vineyard Pinot Noir comes from the Eileen Gerrie vineyard, named after owner Gerrie's mother. This is a spectacular vineyard with vines aged around 25 years old and planted in silty soils. They are cultivated using sustainable agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.

When the Cristom Eileen Vineyard Pinot Noir grapes reach the winery, they are half destemmed before undergoing spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. After a gentle pressing, the wine is racked by gravity into French oak barrels, half of which are new, to age for 18 months. Finally, the wine is bottled unfiltered and clarified with egg whites.

Made by one of the most world-renowned wineries in the Willamette Valley American wine region, Cristom Eileen Vineyard Pinot Noir is the result of combining tradition, modernity and above all, passion. An intense, delicate and very mineral red wine.

2016 Cristom Eileen Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016 is a smooth red wine with flavoursome aromas of red and black forest fruits and subtle spicy touches. On the palate it is a medium-bodied and very fruity, with a lively acidity and a deliciously mineral background. The finish is long, persistent and deep.
