There are wines that are not merely crafted; they are fashioned with the precision and elegance of a distinguished tailor. In the heart of Calatayud (Aragón, Spain), Bodegas San Alejandro envisions its most exceptional projects like an atelier, where every detail —from the vineyard to the ageing process— is chosen with the same delicacy with which a couturier selects fabrics and cuts. In this workshop of ideas and skilled hands, Cuevas de Arom Altas Parcelas is born, a wine that marries the restless vision of San Alejandro with the vibrant creativity of the Master of Wine Fernando Mora (Bodegas Frontonio), reviving a thread that began in 2008 when Mora created his first wine named AROM, his surname in reverse.
Bodegas San Alejandro, established in 1962 and now a prominent authority on Garnacha, represents the fulfilled dream of generations of vintners who chose to celebrate the magnificence of their lands. Their ancient vineyards, deeply rooted in extreme and varied soils —limestone, slate, clay—, are the heritage that has guided their history. Within them, tradition, dedication, and a profound respect for the landscape coexist, a legacy that Frontonio and San Alejandro intertwine to shape a collection where wine is perceived as an artisanal masterpiece.
Cuevas de Arom Altas Parcelas originates from some of the highest and oldest vineyards in Calatayud, planted as bush vines on slate, quartzite, and limestone soils, at over 700 metres altitude. Old Garnachas over 50 years of age, hand-harvested, fermented in open concrete vats with 30% whole clusters, and aged for about 10 months in concrete to preserve their freshness, purity, and texture. The result is a Garnacha that combines precision and character, a modern classic style where each layer is tailored with intent.
Cuevas de Arom Altas Parcelas is a red wine that expresses itself with the serene elegance of a perfectly tailored garment: vibrant red fruit, mineral depth, high-altitude freshness, and a fine texture that caresses the palate. Enjoying it is like running your hand over a delicate fabric: you feel the quality, sense the craftsmanship, and recognize the personality. Ideal to accompany dishes that respect its subtlety —poultry, light stews, roasted vegetables, artisanal charcuterie— or to uncork in moments that call for something special without the need for grand ceremonies. A wine that proves when experience and freshness work together, magic happens... and is savoured.
