The footballer who dreamt of playing in his neighbourhood stadium and ended up lifting the World Cup, the girl who painted on the walls of her home and later exhibited in international museums, the boy who built cardboard rockets and eventually worked at NASA... As children, we all have dreams that seem unattainable. Yet, with determination, perseverance, and patience, some manage to turn them into reality.
This was the story of Stefano Papetti. Even as a child, he had an irresistible fascination with viticulture. While others spent their savings on trading cards or toys, he invested every penny in new bottles, discovering flavours and exploring a universe that captivated him. His dream was clear: one day he would own his vineyards and produce wine independently. That dream became a reality in 2010.
Together with his wife, Eloisa de Fermo, Stefano decided to continue the family's winemaking legacy in Loreto Aprutino (Abruzzo), with origins dating back to the late 18th century. However, they did so with a distinctive touch: a pure, sincere approach deeply respectful of nature, applying biodynamic agricultural principles from the outset. Thus began the new chapter of the De Fermo winery, a project that reflects both tradition and a contemporary perspective on wine.
Among their wines, the De Fermo Concrete Rosato stands out, a delicate and vibrant expression of montepulciano. Made exclusively from this variety, this rosé is cultivated in clay and limestone soils, adhering strictly to biodynamic practices. The harvest is conducted entirely by hand, in small boxes to preserve the integrity of the grapes. After a brief maceration with the skins for just 1 to 2 hours, the must ferments spontaneously, thanks solely to indigenous yeasts, in concrete tanks without temperature control. There is no clarification or filtration: here, the wine is expressed without artifice. Finally, the rosé rests for 7 months in cement, achieving a perfect balance between freshness, texture, and authenticity.
The result is De Fermo Concrete Rosato, a vibrant, honest wine that conveys in every sip the philosophy of Stefano and Eloisa, namely, allowing nature to speak with its own voice, uninterrupted. A childhood dream bottled, capable of evoking as much emotion as a victory in a final, a masterpiece displayed in a museum, or a rocket finally launching into the sky.
