About Domaine Lafage Blanc Lafabuleuse Frisant

On the French agricultural calendar, the Paris General Agriculture Competition is an important event that attracts participants and visitors from all over the country, as well as from other parts of the world. Known in French as the “Concours Général Agricole de Paris”, it aims to recognise and reward excellence in various aspects of agriculture and agribusiness and the prizes awarded are highly prized in the agri-food and agricultural industry, as they represent official recognition of quality and excellence in production. Jean-Marc Lafage, seventh generation of the family estate in Roussillon Domaine Lafage, is the most awarded independent winegrower in France in the last ten years of this prestigious competition. A recognition for his expertise in producing high quality wines in the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region in the south of France. Together with his wife, Eliane Lafage, he produces a wide range of wines, including reds, whites and rosés, with a focus on local and regional grape varieties and a distinctive style.

One product in their extensive collection is Domaine Lafage Blanc Lafabuleuse Frisant. A coupage of different white varieties from the different emblematic terroirs of the region, which the Lafage family has been working for 7 generations. Varieties like Grenache Blanc, Rolle, Muscat of Alexandra and Viognier on black soils in the Agly valley, pebble soils in the Têt valley, and schist soils in Maury. The grapes are harvested when each variety reaches optimum ripeness and, once they reach the winery, the selected and destemmed grapes are carefully pressed to make musts that are kept cool and protected from the cold to preserve the intense freshness of the fruit. They are then assembled and fermented together in stainless steel tanks at a constant temperature.

Praised for its balance, complexity and distinctive character, Domaine Lafage Blanc Lafabuleuse Frisant is a showcase of Lafage’s contribution to the development and promotion of the wines of the Languedoc-Roussillon region. A lively, fresh and fun Vin de France from the most lauded winemaker in recent years at the “Concours Général Agricole de Paris”.
