About Domaine Lafage Côté Est

The Roussillon (France) region’s success in the production of rosé wine comes mainly from the Mediterranean climate with maritime and mountain influences. However, although their rosé is very fashionable, Languedoc-Roussillon is a rich and diverse wine region that produces a wide variety of wines, from robust reds to fresh whites, rosé, sweet, fortified and sparkling wines. This diversity of styles reflects the versatility of the region and Domaine Lafage, a winery on the outskirts of Perpignan, has managed to convey this better than anyone in their wide range of fresh, fun and easy-to-drink wines.

Made by Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage, the sixth generation to manage a total of 36 hectares of old family vineyards spread across Roussillon’s different climates and terroirs, they present us with wines like this Domaine Lafage Côté Est. This white wine is made from a blend of Grenache Blanc, Chardonnay and Roussanne from the eastern part of Roussillon, by the Mediterranean coast. Once in the winery, each variety is fermented separately in stainless steel tanks and remains on fine lees for a few months.

The result is Domaine Lafage Côté Est, a clean, fresh and very versatile white wine that deftly demonstrates to the world that Languedoc-Roussillon is not just about rosé.

 

2024 Domaine Lafage Côté Est 2024 exudes the full allure of Languedoc wines with its pale yellow hue and shimmering highlights that invite one to be captivated. Upon bringing it to the nose, distinct notes of crisp green apples and ripe currants emerge, enveloped in a delicate hint of honey that beckons exploration on the palate. Upon tasting, its freshness is vibrant, reflecting a refreshing acidity that awakens the senses, offering a fruity finish that leaves a pleasant impression. It is an ideal wine for those who appreciate elegance and freshness in a white wine, perfect for any relaxed occasion.
