Dominique Cornin Saint-Véran Les Serreuxdières 2022 is a moderately aromatic orange wine. On the nose, it reveals delightful notes of blood orange, apple, and a hint of jasmine. Subsequently, mineral notes emerge, imparting freshness and complexity. On the palate, it is very consistent with its aromatic profile, highlighting the fruity notes with a fine and silky texture. The acidity remains balanced throughout the tasting, and the finish presents a saline touch that adds purity to the ensemble.

About Dominique Cornin Saint-Véran Les Serreuxdières

In the southernmost part of Burgundy, at the foot of the Chaintré hills and very close to Beaujolais, we find one of the most wonderful places in the Maconnais. Under the name of Serreuxdières, this terroir has long been considered one of the jewels of this wine region and Dominique Cornin and his son Romain have managed to bring out its best expression by producing wines with a very seductive personality. Expressive and intense productions where the protagonist terroir is clear to see in the glass.

Among the house wines produced in this majestic plot dominated by the Saône river valley and a rising sun, we find Dominique Cornin Saint-Véran Les Serreuxdières from the AOC Saint-Véran. A wine from the oldest Chardonnay vineyards on the estate, some of which date back to 1936. These are very old vines planted in soils composed of very fine clay on the surface and deep limestone, that have been certified as organic vineyards since 2003. Now, as well as that, they also use organic treatments and the grapes are harvested by hand. In the winery, the grapes are carefully selected and destemmed and, once pressed, the resulting must is fermented in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts. It remains there on its lees for 12 months. Finally the wine undergoes a light filtration and is bottled without clarifying.

The fruit of a terroir considered to be a local achievement, Dominique Cornin Saint-Véran Les Serreuxdières is a real treat. Produced by one of the great leaders in the denomination, this is a great example of all that this southern Burgundy territory has to offer.

Dominique Cornin Saint-Véran Les Serreuxdières 2019 is a sculpted white wine with sweet scents of candied orange, exotic fruits, and citrus, complemented by an invigorating minerality and hints of jasmine. On the palate, it is lively, robust, and mineral-rich. A most welcoming and quintessentially authentic wine with beautiful fruity notes, a delicate and silky texture, and a pure finish with saline nuances.
