About Embruix de Vall-Llach

Embruix de Vall-Llach is a red wine from the Priorat elaborated by Celler Vall-Llach. This winery is located in the village of Porrera, east of Priorat (Tarragona).

Celler Vall Llach show a clear commitment to a custom winemaking, the production is very limited to enhance product quality.

Embruix de Vall-Llach is a blend of Grenache (35%), Carignan (20%), Syrah (20%), Merlot (20%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%) varieties. The grapes come from young vines between 6 and 12 years. Its preparation takes place using custom methods, each variety undergoes the process separately and in small tanks. The fermentation is conducted at a temperature of between 25 and 29 ° C for 17 days.

Subsequently, a post-fermentation maceration of 12 days is followed by a soft pressing and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks (50%) and barrels (50%).

Finally, the wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels

Embruix de Vall-Llach Magnum 2022 unfurls in the glass with an intense ruby hue that immediately captures one's attention. On the nose, its vitality is evident with aromas of blackberries and ripe black plums, accompanied by subtle mineral notes and a smoky touch imparted by the oak aging. On the palate, it is welcoming and enveloping, with a structured body offering a juicy burst of fruit and a silky tannin that adds elegance. Its long finish brings with it hints of cocoa and a subtle note of liquorice. This wine is recommended for its complexity and balance, a vivid and nuanced expression of the land from which it originates.

2013 Powerful, and very fleshy input. Step is juicy with hints of black fruit. Well structured, good acidity and well integrated tannins. Lingering finish.

Cherry red high layer, clean and bright.

Great aromatic intensity, a presence of ripe black fruit (cherry and blueberry) with herbaceous and spicy notes. Slightly mineral background.
2011 In the mouth, it follows the same pattern than in the nose: it is a powerful, concentrated and fleshy wine. Very well-structured wine, with a high tannic sensation. Ripe tannins combined with a marvellous acidity which holds the alcoholic load. Very long and very persistent finish.

Beautiful and intense cherry red colour, very covered. Bright, with a dense tear which slightly colours the glass.

In the nose, it is a powerful and concentrated wine of high intensity with a clear predominance of aromas of juicy very ripe red fruit, over pleasant toasted and balsamic hints and nuances of herbs from Mediterranean mountains. Mineral and spiced background.
2010 In the mouth, it follows the same pattern than in the nose, concentrated, powerful and fleshy. Very well structured, with a high tannic sensation, ripe tannins very present and combined with a fantastic acidity which holds the alcoholic content. Very long and very persistent finish.

In the nose it is powerful and concentrated, with a high intensity and a clear predominance of aromas of very ripe black fruit, juicy, over pleasant toasted hints and balsamic nuances and herbs of Mediterranean hill. Mineral and spiced background.
2009 A wine with a soft and bulky attack that gives way to a very intense wine, with notes of fruit and fruit jam with good toasted notes and  fresh balsamic aromas. Long and greatly balanced mid palate, with a very silky texture. A tasty and even slightly mellow wine (especially because of the aromas of cocoa, creamy toffee and spices). Very good acidity that balances the whole set and ripe and well integrated tannins. Long finish with a great persistence. A very nice, mature and serious red wine. Very round.

Intense dark cherry colour with violet edges and dense, slow tears.

This wine is characterised by its intense, complex and expressive aromas. Before swirling the glass, nothing but intense notes of ripe fruit, with liquor hints, is noticed. Gradually, some light smoked notes appear. When the wine opens up, the fruit becomes more expressive and the toasted aromas become more intense. A great minerality also appears wrapped in sweet spices (vanilla, cocoa and cinnamon) and good notes of undergrowth. Very balanced at the end.
2008 Excellent wine from Priorat with a wide mouth-filling attack. Very tasty, smooth, gentle and warm mid palate. The notes of fruit are still present but the balsamic aromas gain ground. Ripe tannins. Very good, long and persistent finish which leaves a liquorised aftertaste. Very pleasant wine, perfect to meet the new wines of Priorat.

Powerful and complex aromas that remind us of the lands of Priorat. Many notes of ripe black fruit with some licorice touches are noticed along with noble woods' toasted aromas and a great charge of mineral notes (slate soils). When it opens up, the aromas gain in intensity and herbal notes (which remind of the Mediterranean forests), sweet spices (vanilla, cinnamon, cocoa) and fresh balsamic hints are also noticed.
2007

Very well bodied Priorat red wine. Powerful attack and good volume.  Dense, warm and tasty mid palate with good presence of fruit and balsamic. Polished tannins and long finish.



Dark cherry opaque colour. Dense and persistent tear.

Intense combination of flavors from the Priorat region: ripe fruit and aromas of vanilla, chocolate and roasted provided by the good wood with a note of slate (from the Priorat soils, which provide minerality to this wine). These aromas in the base are complemented by large herbaceous and balsamic notes.
2006 In the mouth it is dense with nerve and with the entry of delicious Grenache, Carignan force ferésega of bitterness and a final reminder that the hard ground where he was born. Wine and warm with ripe tannins.

Cherry intense.

Has the aromas of earth, damp earth, garrigue scrub and ripe blackberries. Aroma of warm character.
