Eulogio Pomares Maceración con Pieles is a white wine of the Albariño variety produced by Eulogio Pomares in the D.O. Rías Baixas.

The Eulogio Pomares winery is known for developing ‘Grandes Vinos Desiguales’. The pioneering and groundbreaking vision of its winegrower and oenologist is based on the motto that everything that is added to nature is supplementary. Located in the sub-area of the Salnés Valley (Pontevedra), the cradle of Albariño, its wines are the result of an incomparable natural environment.

Two prerequisites are needed to guarantee a quality Albariño: poor and sunny lands. And that is what the Salnés Valley provides. Once the grapes for Eulogio Pomares Maceración con Pieles are at their optimum ripeness, they are harvested manually and selected on the plot itself.

In the cellar the grapes are destemmed and are trodden in an open vat. Alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously with their own skins. When this finishes, Eulogio Pomares Maceración con Pieles is kept in contact with the skins for 2 weeks. After pressing, the wine goes into used French oak barrels for 9 months, without decanting and without malolactic fermentation. It remains in the bottle for 6 months.

Eulogio Pomares Maceración con Pieles 2022 is an aromatic and complex orange wine. On the nose, notes of clove or fennel accompany aromas reminiscent of ripe yellow fruit, also displaying some aromatic nuances that, although it is an albariño, are reminiscent of the muscat variety. On the palate, it is crisp, with intense flavours. A wine with a dry texture and good maturity, deep, long, and persistent. Ideal for those who appreciate wines with an uncommon personality, full of nuances.
