About Faustino V Reserva

Faustino V Reserva is a wine from La Rioja produced by Bodegas Faustino, owned by the Faustino Group. In this blend there is Tempranillo (90%), to which Mazuelo (10%) is added.

Having completed the harvest, the grapes ferment alcoholically for about 10 days at a temperature of less than 29º.

Faustino V Reserva subsequently begins a process of maceration with its own skins for about 20 days. Faustino V Reserva finally ages for 16 months in American white oak barrels from Missouri.

Before arriving on the market, it rests for another 24 months in bottle.

The Faustino group consists of seven wineries. These are divided between different denominations of Spanish origin, although three of them are in La Rioja.

2018

Faustino V Reserva 2018 envelops us with its bouquet of ripe black fruits such as raisins, complemented by balsamic nuances and a sweet hint of toasted oak. Delicate aromas of cocoa and truffle are also discernible. On the palate, it is well-balanced and graceful, with a smooth texture and a hint of tannic presence. Flavours of cocoa intertwine with a subtle undertone of ripe fruits. Its finish is lingering, accentuating notes of dried fruits and sweet spices, leaving a concentrated and sophisticated impression.
2017

Faustino V Reserva 2017 is a clean and bright red wine, exhibiting a cherry hue that transitions to garnet. On the nose, it impresses with its intensity, featuring integrated aromas of ripe fruit such as plums and blackberries, complemented by sweet barrel notes. On the palate, it offers a smooth entry, an elegant structure, and a remarkable balance. Its finish is medium-long, with a concentrated profile that leaves a lasting impression.                      
2010 It is soft and round. Wide flavour and sweet tannins which are perfectly integrated.

Cherry red with reddish hues.

High intensity. It presents notes of red and candied fruit with toasted and spicy aromas, typical of the barrel.
2009 Soft, round and fleshy. Notable, sweet tannins which are well integrated.

Intense cherry red with a rust coloured rim.

Intense. Aromas of red and candied fruits combined with toasted notes and spices from the barrel.
