About Félix Callejo Selección de la familia

An extraordinary wine from the Ribera del Duero!
It is the result of a careful and strict selection of vines over 40 years old, located in the Callejo family's 25 vineyards, in three different types of soil (limestone, clay loan and sandy gravel), which provide different nuances and characteristics to the same grape variety, Tempranillo.
The grapes were fermented with indigenous yeasts at low temperatures which rise to 30°C. After more than 15 days maceration with the skins, a malolactic fermentation is conducted in new French oak barrels in which the wine rests for 15 months approximately. Once bottled, the wine refines in the bottle for a little longer.

It is recommended decanting this wine at least an hour before serving. A wine with a long life ahead. Intense and very tasty wine. Pure velvet. A luxury for the senses!

2015

Félix Callejo Selección de la familia is a concentrated, powerful and structured red wine. A magnificent vintage which displays all the character of the variety and the terroir where this splendid wine originates. Aromas of ripe black fruit, toasted notes, coffee and tobacco, over a very elegant spicy base note. On the palate it is voluminous, full and very elegant, with a very lingering finish.
2006 This wine coats the mouth with the most pleasant sensations. Very bulky, dense and velvety wine with an extraordinary, powerful, very fruity palate of creamy, toasted aromas and a backgroud of cocoa which provides it with sweetness. Well-structured wine with a well-balanced acidity and fleshy tannins. Very long finish, with great persistence of toasted notes and fruit.

Highly intense dark cherry colour with thin purple edges. Bright wine with elegant tears that stain the glass.

Very expressive and intense aromas. Initially, intense toasted notes are released along with smoked touches and a powerful touch of liquorice. When it opens up, the complex notes of very ripe black fruit are noticed, mixed with very creamy aromas, spices and a touch of bakery. Great background with subtle floral notes and a pleasant minerality.
