About Juvé & Camps Gran Tribut Joan Juvé
If there is anyone in Penedès who deserves recognition in every sense, it is none other than Joan Juvé himself. For decades, his figure has embodied an unwavering commitment to quality sparkling wine, demonstrating that this land could stand shoulder to shoulder with the great wine-producing regions of the world. Joan not only preserved the legacy of a historic house but also championed a way of working based on respect for the land, patience in the shadows of the winery, and a constant pursuit of excellence. Creating a sparkling wine bearing his name is not a commercial strategy, but a rightful tribute to the man who gave everything to dignify the bubbles of his homeland.
From Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, in the heart of Alt Penedès, this wine is crafted under the Corpinnat seal, the collective brand that guarantees high-end sparkling wines made entirely on the estate. The grapes come from selected plots within the Espiells estate, one of the most emblematic properties of the house, situated at an average altitude of 200 metres above sea level and sheltered by the Montserrat mountain range. The soils are of clay-limestone nature, with moderate fertility and excellent capacity to retain moisture deep down, allowing for balanced plant development. The climate is Mediterranean, with mild winters and hot summers tempered by the sea breeze. This tribute uses a well-balanced blend of the indigenous varieties Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada, complemented by a touch of Chardonnay. Viticulture is managed under the principles of certified organic farming, prioritising manual work and ecosystem preservation.
The production of Juvé & Camps Gran Tribut Joan Juvé strictly follows the traditional method, the system in which the second fermentation occurs naturally within the bottle. After the hand harvest, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed to extract only the free-run juice, the highest quality juice that flows without excessive pressure. The must undergoes the first alcoholic fermentation in stainless-steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the blending of the base wines, the liqueur de tirage is added to bottle and initiate the second fermentation in the dim light of the cellar. The wine undergoes an extended ageing period of over 40 months on its fine lees, the inactive yeasts remaining inside the bottle, gaining creaminess and complex nuances. Finally, disgorgement is performed, the operation to remove the sediment accumulated in the neck of the bottle, before receiving its final cork.
Sober, creamy, and elegant, Juvé & Camps Gran Tribut Joan Juvé is born as a sincere tribute to the career of a man who has dedicated his life to quality bubbles. The irrefutable proof that well-executed work is best enjoyed when shared.

| 2008 | Very bulky attack, creamy and unctuous on the palate, which shows the total integration of the fizziness. This is an intense, delicate and very well made cava, with a persistent finish. A pale yellow colour with golden reflections, very bright. Fine bubbles. Good intensity, complex and elegant with a good balance of aromas of ripe white fruit, fine toasted notes, nice, light notes of aromatic herbs and nuances of dried fruit and aniseed. |

| 2006 | Once in the mouth it is intense, inspiring and extremely enjoyable. Its effervescence gently caresses our palate, showing all the creaminess of its foam. This unctuous and persistent cava, leaves souvenirs of its deep and delicate aromas. Cava with an expressive golden colour that keeps a slightly pale tone, despite its long ageing process. Its splendid effervescence generates multiple strings of ephemeral bubbles that rise to the surface forming a stable crown. Its aroma is penetrating, complex, cheerful and very fresh. This is a surprising cava since, despite being a Gran Reserva, it retains a huge freshness. Clear notes of white flowers and fleshy fruits are perceived together with hints of pastry, nuts and aniseed. Complexity grows steadily with the emergence of toasty notes. |
