About Hito

Hito is a young red wine made in the DO Ribera del Duero.

The word "hito" means milestone, a stone post (sometimes carved) that is used to indicate direction or distance on roads. In a way, the name is a simile with what this wine stands for: a new, modern way of making young wines.

Hito is a Tinta Fina single-varietal from vines planted with clone seeds of the most emblematic vineyards.

The grapes ferments for 30 days and are subject to pump-overs. The wine then ages for eight months in French oak barrels, giving the wine a subtle elegance and making it stand out from other young wines in the region, approaching the maturity of aged wines.

Hito 2021 is a concentrated red wine, deep cherry red in colour with violet hues. Clean and bright, this wine appears with an intense and very expressive nose, where varietal aromas predominate with toasted touches. The palate is balanced and well structured. Persistent finish.
2019

Hito 2019 is an eloquent red wine, boasting an articulate bouquet of both red and black fruits, complemented by verdant herbaceous notes and seamlessly integrated spicy undertones. On the palate, it possesses substance, vigor, and candor. This wine is characterized by its harmonious acidity and a gratifying, extensive finish.
2010 This wine is tasty from start to finish. Bulky with good structure. Magnificent, defined and refreshing acidity and ripe, sweet tannins. Long finish and an aftertaste full of fruit and spices. Smoky notes felt at retro-olfaction. Delicious! This red wine is great value for money (and pleasure).

This new vintage shows a complex, clean and balanced nose with aromas of ripe red and black fruit standing out, along with a good range of spices and hints of cocoa and liquorice. Subtle toasted and roasted notes in the background.
