Joseph Drouhin Mâcon-Bussières Les Clos is a biodynamic, barrel-aged white wine made by the French winery Joseph Drouhin with the Chardonnay variety in AOC Mâcon-Bussières (Burgundy).
A great ambassador for Burgundy, the Drouhin family has been producing quality wines for four generations with a focus on the terroir and tradition. They cultivate 73 hectares according to biodynamic principles that result in white and red wines with the finesse and freshness that characterise the great Burgundy wines.
Joseph Drouhin Mâcon-Bussières Les Clos comes from a large terroir located in the town of Bussières, in southern Burgundy where the mainly clayey soils are very good for cultivating the Chardonnay variety. They are committed to organic agriculture using biodynamic practices to protect both the environment and the terroir itself. The strain yield is limited and the harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the Joseph Drouhin Mâcon-Bussières Les Clos grapes are slowly pressed to keep the original characteristics of the fruit. The must is fermented with native yeasts. Finally, some of the wine ages in 500-litre oak barrels with the rest in stainless steel tanks for 6 to 8 months.
Giving absolute priority to the expression of the terroir and the character of the vintage, Joseph Drouhin Mâcon-Bussières Les Clos is an elegant, delicate and very fresh wine. An ideal Chardonnay to enjoy and share.
